The name Diamer carries deep cultural and symbolic meaning. It is derived from Nanga Parbat (Urdu: نانگا پربت) (Urdu: [nəŋɡa pərbət̪]), locally known as Diamer (Shina: دیآمر), meaning the “King of the Mountains.” Located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, it is the ninth-highest mountain in the world, towering at 8,126 meters (26,660 feet). Known for its immense beauty and daunting challenges, Diamer is revered for testing the limits of endurance and strength—earning the nickname “Killer Mountain.”
